Former military president Ibrahim Babangida has said that he would not seek any political post in Nigeria again. He made this known on Tuesday in a statement signed by him in Minna. Babangida had turned down an invitation by the PDP for a rebranding conference. However, he said he would continue to offer his wise counsel to all politicians towards building a better Nigeria. “If I called it quit in 2011, why would PDP contemplate fielding a 78 year-old man in a presidential election in a country that parades very vibrant men and women of lesser age? “I have no intention whatsoever to run for any office again in Nigeria,” he said. Babangida said that the invitation by the PDP would amount to playing partisan politics if he attended the conference. “While I welcome the invitation to the event as a mark of respect as one of the founding fathers, I want to be excused on the grounds that I have long bid bye to partisan politics. “Four years ago at an elaborate event at the Transcorp Hilton Hotels Abuja, I announced my retirement from partisan politics after my failed attempt to contest for President,” he said. cc: http://examhall.net/home/babangida-reject-pdps-invitation-insists-he-has-retired-from-politics/ Source: http://examhall.net/home/babangida-reject-pdps-invitation-insists-he-has-retired-from-politics/

Looking calm and refreshed, he said, ‘I don’t like talking about my marriage, so I’d rather we don’t even go there at all.’ It should be recalled that DJ Xclusive got married to his long-time girlfriend, Tinuke on Saturday, October 3, 2015. The EME DJ also recently released his debut album titled ‘According to X’ featuring the likes of Wizkid, Timaya, 2face, Terry G, Patoranking, among others. source: http:///i-dont-like-talking-about-my-marriage-dj-xclusive/

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) says Saturday’s judgment of the Taraba state gubernatorial election tribunal in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hajia Aisha Jummai Alhassan is another evidence of executive interference in the judiciary. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Saturday, said that the Taraba state tribunal ruling again brings to the fore the organized plan by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC Federal Government to deploy all unorthodox means to decimate the opposition. “It is rather curious and a great conflict of irony that the Taraba tribunal sitting in Abuja on security grounds faulted the conduct of PDP primaries shifted to the same Abuja on security reasons,” the party stressed. The PDP said if the tribunal is faulting the party primaries as basis for its decision, it then means that no APC gubernatorial candidate can stand the test, as their party never had acceptable primaries in any of their states. “Evidence that Taraba ruling was a product of Presidency manipulation can be deduced from the fact that few hours before the judgment was delivered, the APC had arrogantly announced their victory on the new media,” the PDP said. The opposition party said it is totally confounded by the brazing show of power by the executive, warning that the development clearly portends grave danger to our democracy and indeed national cohesion and development. “Finally the party calls on its members across the country, especially in Taraba state to remain undaunted as the appellate courts will restore its well-deserved victory,” the statement read. cc: lalasticlala source: http:///taraba-ruling-was-a-product-of-presidency-manipulation-pdp/ |
