FBN, four other Nigerian banks on world top 500 banks list

Five Nigerian banks, First Bank of Nigeria (FBN), Guaranty Trust Bank, Zenith Bank Plc, Access Bank and United Bank for Africa have been listed among top 500 banks in world in a publication, Bankermagazine of Financial Times and Brand Finance, in London, United Kingdom.

In a statement yesterday by the Country Representative, Nigeria, The Banker magazine, Kunle Ogedengbe, it disclosed that FBN led its Nigerian other four contemporary in the global ranking and that it was regarded as most valuable banking brand in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) emerged most traded stock with 34.3 million units of shares on Friday, with valued at N120.2 million; Standard Trust Alliance (STACO) trailed with 20 million units valued at N10 million; and Guaranty Trust Bank was third with 18.2 million units of shares valued at N423.2 million.

Besides, Diamond Bank clinched fourth most traded stock with 13.9 million units valued at N12.6 million, while Fidelity Bank emerged fifth on the day’s top traded list with 9.01 million units of shares at N8.02 million.
