Former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen has said he is confident that Nigeria will not have a problem securing the Russia 2018 World Cup ticket ahead of the newly crowned African champions Cameroon.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Sunday defeated the Pharaohs of Egypt 2-1 to record its fifth AFCON title, after triumphs in 1984, 1988, 2000 and 2002. The victory, however, seemed to pose a nightmare to Nigerian soccer fans as the Super Eagles would confront the Lions in a double-header, for Russia 2018 qualifiers in August.

But Eguavon who represented Nigeria at USA 1994 and France 1998 World Cups told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Monday that Cameroon AFCON success will only help Nigeria prepare better for the double-header tie in August.
