Deltans, SEE this lad who sings and raps in Kwale
The African music industry specifically the Nigerian music industry in recent years have experienced some sudden changes in the kind of songs its Artistes put out or are putting out. Ranging from change of style in genres fusing the traditional hip hop sounds with some home-made beats which is formally known as “Afro- Pop” or “Fusion” as the case maybe. And apart from the fact, the kinds of beats are beginning to change, also the language delivery in every song by African Artistes specifically Nigerian Artistes are beginning to experience some sudden change from the officially English Language delivery to our individual state languages.

This sudden trend by African Artistes has received a lot of international recognitions, although it wasn’t well appreciated back those days when only few number of musicians sang in their native languages.

The likes of Olamide, Phyno, Illbliss, Reminisce, Zoro, have experienced great recognitions in their respective style of careers through the motives to stink to the choice of representing their localities in their musical deliveries [ although Reminisce recently had a change in style of language delivery].

While the likes of Wizkid, Lil kesh, Davido are actually spicing their own careers with their indigenous language [Yoruba].

The South East and South West are the two major zones to produce or have produced more artistes who represent the regions more than any other geopolitical zone.

Although the South Southerners are putting in every effort to be highly recognized in the music industry just the way they are widely accepted in the comedy representation of the region.

A few have tried making themselves known , the like of Viktoh who sings in his native Benin local tongue.

But what about the Deltans and Bayelsans?, should we accept they as the comedy kings and take them as flops in the music industry?. For me, I take it as a NO, as a guy I recently met sings and raps better in the local “Kwale”. “Kwale” is a native language mostly spoken by the Ogunus in the Ndokwa west region of delta.

This guy who is nicked “Wizdido” is a traditionally- urban kind of a singer, rapper as he mostly delivers in “Kwale” and a lil bit of English Language and the pidgin.

The street commissioner as he is fondly called by his fans is named Paul Nonso Ugbeh. Wizdido started his musical career with a smashing tune he title “Akwa Ibom Girls” in 2009.
A graduate of Statistic from the Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra State fuses his kind of music in so many ways ranging from great powerful lyrics, sounds and vocals

D.I.D.O meaning “Destiny In Different Occurrences, one can beat his chest and say this guy got a difference.
