What is the rule on buying naija used cars with this new number plate? Someone told me that the new number plate can not be transferred.

Also, if you buy a naija used car with Abuja number plates (to be used in Lagos), do you need a new lagos number plate?

Yes, the new plate number is no transferable, you are expected to do change of ownership and get your own new plate.
Plate numbers are no longer tied to the car, they are tied to the car user.... Even if you sell you car and buy a new one, you can still use the plate of the sold car on the new car

However, if you dont have money to do it now, you can do police report and court affidavit to cover the transfer until you are able to do the change of ownership

On the 2nd items, you dont need a Lagos plate number. Any state plate number can be used anywhere within the country and we can help renew vehicle license of Abuja here in Lagos
