A friend of mine was scam after transferring money to someone
account who promise to do a for him.

They met online and exchange contact, Mr John (name withheld) said he into
system networking, installation and consultancy, they got talking on phone and on whatsapp.

Later my friend, Mr.Taiwo (name withheld) ask John if he can do a job for him.
After negotiation, they both agreed on a specified amount. Mr John the network
consultant ask him to pay 50% upfront to enable buy materials and other stuff.
Taiwo transfer the sum N150,000 through his bank mobile app.

Some days later, when Taiwo called to know how far, John said is busy at the moment
and promise to come over to start the job. Days later he also call just to know why the
delay. Mr John line was no longer reachable, messages on whatsapp no longer delivered.

Now, please how to we assist taiwo to get his money back through the bank details given
to him.

1)Start by tracking the account that received the money.

The bankers should be able to narrow him down with the BVN details of the account, even if the account isn't his, the owner might also be an accomplice, from there, They check the person who withdrew the money.

2) Start by relasing the name of the thief, don't know why you withheld his name.It might be vital in trackinh him as you never can tell, he might be scamming someone atm who reading this thread would be of immense help to.
