Nigerians React Bitterly on the high increase of prices of commodities – Statereporters

Metro Reporters of Statereporters took to the streets of Enugu State to interview residents on the effect of the hardship and the high increase of prices of commodities.

This is what they have to say.

Mrs Caroline, a lecturer when asked to give her take on the state of the nation and the way the government is going about the issue of recession.

She said “Things are extremely on the high side, imagine someone buying a litre of kerosene for #500.

She further said if she has another opportunity to vote in another election, she won’t vote for Buhari“.

Mrs Benedict, a business woman said, ” Buhari’s leadership is the worst. We were more comfortable during Goodluck’s time. The prices of cheap goods like garri, oil and other commodities have skyrocketed.

She further complain that customers no longer patronize them. “If you go to the market to sell nobody will attend to you because there is no money “

Ms Nwokoro Chinwe a student said “ This government is something that is unexpected. Everyone is suffering, you hardly see anyone that is smiling.

She further without being questioned commented on the rumoured death of Buhari.

She said, “when the rumour of the president’s death came you people everywhere in the country jubilating not minding the consequences.

When asked why she thinks people are happy over the rumoured death of the president. She said, “Everybody is suffering in the hand of this government. We are tired of continuing like this, I think that is why we are happy over the rumoured death of the president”.

Agbaji Nnaemeka :

“There is nothing good in this government; it has been a hook in our neck”.

When asked if it was not too early to judge the government he said, “As a Nigerian the president failed us totally. Whatever he is trying to fix should not be at the detriment of the poor. Most people have died because of the hardship brought upon us by this government; the government should give us a better change before we all die”
