About 2000 years ago, Jesus attended a wedding at Cans in Galilee with his mother and some of his disciples.
Typical of weddings in his time, the ceremony can take up to 7 days and entertainment was key in those ceremonies.
However, on the Third day of the ceremony they ran out of wine and Jesus' mother, Mary was contacted. Mary knowing his son was creative and possessed some powers beyond this realm told his son about it.
Jesus not wanting to get involved in things as mundane as wine business didn't want to get involved. But Mary have lived with this boy for 30 years. She knew what his son could do. She turned to the servants and said, "Whatever he tells you to do, do it". She knew his son could be unconventional and outrageous, hence she gave the caveat.
Jesus told them to fill the 6 stone water jars with water that could take between 75 and 120 liters each. They obeyed and filled them to the brim.
Knowing the situation of Jesus' days. Getting 720 liters of water can be very challenging but the servants obeyed. Here comes the difficult part. He commanded them to fetch a part of it and serve the master of the banquet first.
If it were you, would you do it? The servants knowing full well they could be ridiculed remembered the words of Jesus' mother. "Whatever he tells you to do, do it". They fetched and served and the water turned into the sweetest wine the master of the banquet ever tasted.
We are in trying times my friend, things are tough. But I come with a message of hope.
WHATEVER HE TELLS YOU TO DO, DO IT!
Stop listening to complainers, wailers and naysayers. They don't have a solution to your problems. All they do is to analyze and rationalize how things won't work.
They fill your mind with anger and fear. They want you to fight and hate the system. They will even laugh at the thought of you filling your water pots with water. You don't need them.
It's time to listen to Jesus. It's time to do the unconventional. It's time to fill your water pots with water and anticipate a miracle as you serve it. It's time to do whatever he tells you to do. It's time to win.
