Let's hope they spend it on the proposed project. Ion trust this govt 1 bit.
Most of these loans will likely arrive the shores of Nigeria in the form of Chinese hardware and personnel to supervise the project. Like Public Privarte Partnership, a loan is normally mutually beneficial to the parties involved.

My worry lies in not knowing how much core benefits were squeezed out in Nigeria's favour. You know, if you approach me with your hat in hand, I will give you some change. But if you make a business proposition to me, we will both be richer in the long run.

So, which of these two scenarios capture the terms of these Chinese loans? Please educate me.

When will these people ever focus on projects that will build our economy and not the ones they'll use in stomaching money abroad?
If you care to know, these loans are tied to a project that will never develop third-world's economy! That's what they do so that you'll keep coming.
The last time I wrote something on it, it was deleted on twitter the developed economy cos now they know few people know.
Whatever happened to Power? Mines and Steel? Revamping the education sector to meet with 21st century need?
Will the rail project be given to indigenous companies? Very soon, Sarathief will come online to campaign for "buy naija to grow the naira"

Our acclaimed leaders will get loans from them, award the contracts to them with a promise to get 10% from the awarded contracts and when they are about repatriating the fund, it'll go along with their 10% in an account the multinationals opened in their name in their country.
How will they ever want our indigenous companies to grow and some bastards will still come here to sing their praises!

What is this one saying? Do you know the value of rail transportation to national development at all?

Well

1.A railway project makes transport of products much easier...which could help reduce prices.

2.Railways could be used to transport things like cattle...which would help to end the pesky herdsmen v farmer clashes occuring over the country

3.Railways transport passengers....which means savings on transport

4.And of course....jobs provided...both directly and indirectly.

I am not fond of us taking loans...except for things like power and transport infrastructure. That is where taking loans makes sense.

The chinese Exim bank is not a charity organisation but a financial lender competing with the World bank and the IMF, the chinese give you loans at single digit interest rate but the materials and contract will be awarded to a Chinese company, those are the terms, if you don't like it, why not try World bank and IMF where you are supposed to have a programme like NEEDS before you get a kobo from them.
I don't like the Chinese terms either because it does very little to alleviate our GDP crisis, but the big question is; what choice do we have?
You know if IMF were to give you any form of assistance you must remove all your subsidies including the 5k and the school children feeding right?

Not all loan are future mortgaging. That is a myopic view.

When you collect loan and invest in infrastructure. The is nothing about mortgaging any future.

Lets read wide and not just follow what Ayo Fayose is promoting.

The wise question that should be asked first is, 'how much is the recovered loot so far and how does it compare to the loan amount in question?'
