Imo and Anambra state can be said to have a lot of things in common, such as brotherliness, Igboness and having high human capacity index in Nigeria.

These two states in terms of education and enterprise are the highest in Nigeria. With a lot of their citizens having enterprise. But,the onslaught launched by IMO state governor ,Rochas on the Eastern governors with the term that about “three people will join APC” has seen Anambra state government responding appropriately. Anambra has always Sen herself as the light of the nation and that is what the has been doing well.



Having had the best if both world, been born and grew up in Owerri, the capital of Imo and having Anambra state as origin ,I can justifiably say that I am from the two states. I am from Anambra but I speak an Imo Igbo dialect. So we have to understand the narratives . Both governors have done well.
Just few days ago, Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra state on Friday, commissioned Lynden Farms, a poultry farm located on a 75 hectare piece of land in Igbariam. This is one of the first agricultural projects facilitated by the Anambra State Investment Promotion & Protection Agency.


The poultry has the capacity to produce 350,000 birds every 6 weeks and 30,000 eggs a week. ANSG contributed land to this partnership in exchange for equity in the project while funds were provided by a consortium of investors from Anambra led by Chief Clem Nwogbo. With projects like this, Obiano had been placed on a higher pedestal, with a lot if Nigerians not been able to pay salaries like IMO state , Anambra Government has demonstrated that administrative sagacity can bring the state out of recession which other government including Rochas has made a cliche. As it stands today , Anambra can be said to be isolated from the economic quagmire the country has seen herself due to long term political and economic planning, saving and anticipating. Thus credit goes to a seasoned Banker ,Peter Obi. Anambra is working .


Rochas , though got to government House known as Douglas house on the back of sentimentality not logicality. Would have “lost ” his mandate by the powers that be, the PDP. Citizens of the state rallied around him, protested for him and prayed for him , mandate returned and Ohakim lost.That Is the beginning of Rochas in the terrain of politics. Having tasted so many waters politically, he had been associated to APGA,PDP APC and a while plot that has made people question his stabilitand loyalty. Rochas used the term “my people my people ” to get the heart of IMO indigenous population, the hearts he got! First term saw sterling performance. His strides were visible in the education ( though contested ), the New Owerri roads and a few others. Mind you this was the his first outing. During the era of PDP.His first tenure was a sterling performance making him a darling to all.
PDP “lost” election during the time of Jonathan 2015,as it seems Rochas lost touch with his people. The new found authority has made the people to detest him and was reported (though unverified) that a goddess slapped him. You know in Africa these things happen but how true it is ,only him can tell. He lost favour with the people he governed so it seems and found favour at the centre. Jettisoning governance for politics . Though he is a good man. With his charity foundation scattered around the country known as Rochas Foundation. His diatribe against Obiano had raised questions on what he was doing and how the first money was made before he ventured into charity business.
Everybody has skeletons in their cupboard but not everybody have the right to commission an autopsy .



The arguement has seen the good people of Nigeria calling for a truce. It has been reported that Rochas made a mistake by launching the first salvo. In an oil producing state like IMO that should be competing favourable with Anambra has seen it a sorry state same with Abia. Politics should be jettisoned so it seems and economy placed at the front burner. This is the concept both governors must grasp.
