Sublime text 3 this days..

Used to like atom but was too slow (I guess it's a thing with all Electron apps).
My best IDE is phpstorm but it's too expensive for an hobbyist - which I am. Can run my tests with one keymap. Intellisense is out of this world while being lightweight compared to other IDEs

I so much know phpstorm environment and can code eyes closed but it's too expensive.

Mehn this is hard oo, started off with Eclipse about 2004, then just doing basic HTML 3.2 stuff, then cant remember what happened in-between time, but more recently circa 2009-2016, Its been Netbeans, sublime, code-blocks, vim, IntelliJ, Kate, a little more emacs, Notepad++ all in no particular or sensible order.. grin

Notepad ++/vs code/code writer

Simple, lightweight and dies the job for now.

Notepad++ taking the first spot for its ease to customize.

VS Code : takes a million gb to download & a billion gb to install
Other IDEs: don't see nothing special
Sublime Text: can handle anything if you know what you are doing
VI: same as sublime text
VI & Sublime, no need to jump around
Re: . by mcemmy0z: 5:09pm On Mar 31, 2017
Currently using eclipse for java and liclipse for python
Re: . by adeoyeyemi(m): 9:15pm On Apr 03, 2017
I believe no IDE or code editor is universally complete on its own.
While all of them have their strengths and flaws. However, i tend to use IDEs or editors that best suit the problem at hand. Though, i have bias for Jetbrains IDE enterprise editions, VScode and Atom.
Re: . by uthmanbakar: 7:03pm On Apr 05, 2017
Android studio : Android
NetBeans : Java, C++
phpstorm : all things web
sublime text too

I'm more comfy with the dark side(dark theme IDEs). wink grin cool

Re: . by Bossman(m): 4:25pm On Apr 06, 2017
Text Editor - Notepad++ (Textpad is not bad either).
IDE - Eclipse. It really depends on the Job. Some clients require us to use RAD, but most Java IT shops have moved to the much lighter Eclipse.
