Speaker urges Nigerians to be patient

Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara says the Federal Government has put necessary measures in place to end the recession being experienced in the country.

He spoke at a cocktail party put together for him and other members of the house by the Benue State Government.

Mr. Dogara explained that Government has concluded work on a document and it's implementation would soon commence to bring immediate relief for the people.

The Speaker lauded the development strides of the Samuel Ortom administration in different sectors and promised to complement it by ensuring that attention is given to federal roads in Benue State.

He expressed optimism that the Governor would not be discouraged by criticisms and continue with his responsibilities assigned to him by God to lift Benue out of poverty.

Earlier, Governor Ortom solicited the collaboration of the Speaker in ensuring that greater federal presence is felt in Benue, particularly the rehabilitation of high ways.

The Governor commended Mr. Dogara for providing the right leadership for the House and placing lawmakers from Benue in strategic positions, urging him to sustain the gesture.
