A huge number of votes were cast this year and we now have very clear winners from all categories. Voting started on November 19 and ended yesterday (December 5). Each user was allowed one vote in each category. Read on to find out the winners.

Let's jump straight to the winners of the occasion.

OVERALL GAME OF THE YEAR 2009:

A total of 979 votes were cast for the overall winner. From the beginning, the winner was clear. You guessed it - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

* Killzone 2 - 8.6%
* Assassins Creed 2 - 3.9%
* Batman: Arkham Asylum - 1.5%

Killzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 put up a small fight with the legend of 2009 - Uncharted 2. During the middle of our voting, Uncharted 2 once hit over 90% of the total votes. With the support of some fans over at the Killzone forums and MW2 forums, they both crawled up the ladder but clearly with no success.

Now lets jump to the sub categories.

BEST PLAYSTATION 3 GAME OF 2009:

Winner: Uncharted 2; wiped the floor with the nominees. Total votes, if you care: 848

* inFamous - 3.3%
* Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - 82.4%

BEST XBOX 360 GAME OF 2009:

Only 3 nominees, a good competition. Winner: Forza Motorsport 3 Total Votes: 704

* Halo 3: ODST - 14.8%

* Forza Motorsport 3 - 27.6%

BEST PC GAME OF 2009

Easy win for first place. Good fight for second place but we got no awards for that, oh we don't have any awards at all Surprised. Just unlimited bragging rights for fans of the winning game.

The Winner: Dragon Age: Origins. Total votes: 723

* Aion: The Tower of Eternity - 16.0%
* Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box - 13.3%
* Sims 3 - 14.5%
* Dragon Age: Origins - 56.2%

BEST NINTENDO WII GAME OF 2009:

6 nominees, once again we see a easy win but a close fight for second place. Even closer fight for 3rd place.

The winner: NSMBW Total Votes: 630

* Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles - 10.3%
* New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 49.0%

BEST GRAHICS OF 2009:

We were expecting it to be a very close fight between Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2, but no, Uncharted 2 wiped the floor with it's competitors once again.

That ends another year of our Game of The Year Awards. A well earned congratulations to Uncharted 2: Among Theives which thrived in all categories it was listed in. There was no competition at all. We hope to bring back the handheld category in 2010, which will be a very intresting year with a few huge titles set for release.

I was really expecting Killzone 2 to put up a fight in the best graphics category.
