As part the Acting president's tour of the oil bearing communities in the Niger Delta,His Excellency Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, today visited Ohaji/Egbema in Imo State to inspect Federal government projects, especially those that were abandoned.

The Skills Acquisition Centre in Abaezi Egbema abandoned by NDDC and the Egbema power plant abandoned by the Federal Government were projects visited.

The Acting president after the tour assured the people that all the contractors who abandoned their projects would be mandated to return to site and also promised to look into the request made by the people to convert the abandoned Skills Acquisition Centre into the proposed Niger Delta University of Science and Technology.

The only way Niger Delta can make headway is to be in control of what belong to them, anything short of that remains a big joke

The Nigeria FG builds useless facilities all over the place . All the skills acquisition centres all over the country are not plugged into any educational or industrial strategy .
They build rubbish all over the place anthem leave the buildings to rot .
Maybe it is time to ditch 6334 and bring back technical colleges and HSC

The first step towards making headway is actually that moneys appropriated and released for developmental projects in the Niger Delta should never be allowed to end up in the pocket of few individuals; that is the biggest problem in the region which has crippled it's development since the past 15 years.

I'm not someone that fantasises 'mere' promises I appreciate words spoken through action ! It's commendable having you over there but the people of Nigeria as a whole need to be assured that they are being governed by those who are capable of governance !

However, to the people of the Niger delta , I think the root of your problems is stemmed from yourself and the goverment (local, state the federal and the nddc) . You don't get to allow people to prove you wrong about your perception about them when you don't how them chance ! And I can't blame you either as past governments are agent of disbelieve amongst the citizens ,among myriads of other problems .

... I so much love the idea of Niger Delta University of science and technology in Imo state. This will short down permanently the mouth of some "we SS crew" and "we Niger Delta crew" and other unscrupulous elements who engage in divisive falsehood.
