In this time of economic recession,is it not wise for a right thinking government to close the zoo and dispose of it's animals,of what economic importance is that zoo sited in Aso rock villa,if not for looting purposes. Our government and leaders can never set their priority right, always misplacing their priority.

So according to your reasoning, closing down a N40 million zoo maintenance expenditure is the best way out of an economic recession. It shows you do not understand the meaning of economic recession.
Instead of discussing real issues of policies or innovative ideas, you people are obsessed with Buhari. Even though Buhari's government has many fundamental flaws in terms of policies and direction, you make it impossible to discuss sensible issues, and we are pre occupied with discussing irrelevancies.
Buhari did not build the zoo at aso rock, the Zoo was probably built at inception, so every Nigerian president and national assembly had probably been budgeting for the running of the zoo. I do not understand how this zoo could be a subject of discussion in 2007.
If the zoo is closed because of your hatred for Buhari, what do you suggest should be done with the space for the zoo and animals. Should the animals be slaughtered? As I do not see anyone who would buy and maintain the animals ( in this recession as you say).
What I thought Twitter senator and his acolytes should demand is a total inventory of the animals at the zoo and proper maintenance costs to see if it was padded. In the alternative they can give suggestion on what to do with the animals and the space allocated for the zoo, if they are convinced that closing the zoo is the way out of our recession.

Let me add that the so animals wailers are complaining about is situated at the National Children's Park and Zoo located beside Aso Rock

The National Children’s Park and Zoo

The National Children’s Park and Zoo is located in Asokoro District behind the Presidential Villa. It sits under the shadow of nearby Aso Rock. For animal lovers, there is plenty of wildlife to admire here, with attractions including camels, crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, ostriches, tortoises, wild cats and zebras.

Domestic animals are also housed in the zoo, making it a great attraction for younger children too. In fact, playgrounds and other fun activities for kids along ‘Toddler’s Lane’ make this an ideal place to while away an afternoon or enjoy a picnic.
