What’s likely to be the biggest influence on whether you will have a C-section?

In Nigeria today most hospitals especially general hospitals and private hospitals are just after making profits and thereby wants almost all pregnant women to give birth through CS.

A friend was sharing with me what happened during her child birth, the doctor came and after checking on her, he said the baby is lying side-ways and therefore CS will be performed on her, and the least they collect for delivery by CS is 150k, while normal delivery is between 27k - 40k.

There are factors that should require CS which are
(A) Your personal wishes.
(B) Your choice of hospital.
(C) Your baby’s weight.
(D) Your baby’s heart rate in labor.
(E) The progress of your labor.

Some hospitals consider very big babies to be automatic C-sections. Some don’t. While some lacks patience. A pattern on a fetal heart rate monitor might prompt a C-section in one hospital, and a “watch and wait” at another. Doctors’ choices matter, of course, but a hospital can set rules that limit those choices.

So i really think this trend should stop, doctors and nurses should be able to pamper pregnant women during labor and exercise a little patience before pushing them to the theater for surgery.
