Oyegun's Foretold Parallel Government- By Dipo Torhukerhijo by justitiaomnibus(m): 11:33am On Feb 22, 2017
When the body in "body language" fails, we are left with just language and "Nobody" and the language is parallel. Those who threatened to run a parallel government should they fail in their bid to take power at the center now run a parallel government from London by themselves, for themselves and against Nigerians. It is official. We have a parallel federal government of Nigeria somewhere in London. To be part of that parallel, you just need to be APC. Ask senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki who has gone to London twice and told us after his first trip that all is well with the president. He expects us to believe him even though his party, the ApC and president Buhari have accused and charged him to court for lying on oath. The House speaker, Barr. Yakubu Dogara came back from London too and said all is well with the president. That statement has turned out to be "padded" in the face of latest developments. Well, The duo have an unflinching loyalty to the London parallel.

The copyright owner of the phrase "body language" and "wailing wailers" in Nigeria's political thesaurus and one of the media-ills and presidential lying-piece of president Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina announced with presidential bile-pile that the president will be staying back in London longer than originally planned as the president needs longer rest. Recall that Mr. Femi Adesina had oafishly told us that our president is hale and hearty and will be back sooner than we expected. He also said he hasn't talked directly to the president but is in constant touch with "people around the president in London". So who told Mr. Femi Adesina that our president is not coming back soon? People in London or the hale and hearty president himself? If you ask me, "na who I go ask"?

If our president is hale and hearty and has to stay back for an indefinite rest in London, it follows that President Buhari contested for the office of President four good times just so he can have presidential rest outside the violence, poverty, corruption and social and political oppression that is Nigeria and damn Nigerians who dare ask questions as to why. And we are asked to pray for him while he rests hale and hearty. What a "parallel" way to enjoy old age at the expense of about 200 million parallel others.

The Chairman of the Editorial board of the Guardian newspaper was on air some days ago and he said he spoke to Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna state about president Buhari and the governor told him that they chose Buhari as their presidential candidate in the 2015 elections because he was the only one who had the "popularity" to withstand former president Jonathan and take back power. So in a nutshell, Buhari was just an instrument to takeover power and nothing else. Wonder why the country reversed speedily to 1985? They knew president Buhari had patent health issues but foisted him on us. Recall that before the elections, president Buhari's campaign was put on hold for sometime on health grounds. They also knew he has nothing to offer Nigeria. Recall that all those who rallied behind President Buhari in 2015 had at one time or the other condemned him in unequivocal terms, stating that the man is too old, biased, backward, stereotyped and arrogant to rule Nigeria in a democracy. From Governor El-Rufai to Prof. Wole Soyinka to Senator Bola Tinubu to Photo journalist Dele Momodu to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former President Olusegun Obasanjo and many more. But whatever will take power back to the north was a go-go for the northerners and their southwest conspirators. It was so bad that they threatened through the APC party chairman, Mr. John Odigie Oyegun that they will form a parallel government should they fail in their bid to take power. Is it not an ironical denouement of sorts that today, they are in government and we have a parallel government somewhere in London?

Day by day, our fears, doubts and reservations about the Nigerian state, power play and president Buhari's emergence as president of Nigeria despite his record as a coup plotter who overthrew democracy and common sense in this same country is being confirmed. The president and his party men seem to be enjoying the discomfiture of Nigerians so they would neither reveal nor assuage these fears.

And so Beside the apparent opaqueness of this parallel lies a beleaguered and paralyzing nation which has been haphazardly governed in the last one year and nine months. Since we are left to speculate, I can safely suppose that Our directionless, visionless, thoughtless and heartless president's health failed on his own presidential hazards or rather assume that he has technically absconded from duty since he evidently lacks whatever it takes to rule Nigeria.

Since president Buhari abandoned duty for his Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, we have seen some vagaries in the temperament of power, a diplomacy and charisma that was hitherto missing when the London parallel was here with us. Even though nothing has changed with social oppression and economic recession still in sway and the country is still nose diving perilously in multifarious facets, there is no doubt that there is a new temperament in the polity. Whether this will last and yield progress or will pass as another "body language", time will tell.

If there is a man to pray, there is a God to answer. In the mean time, As we have been admonished, let us pray for Nigeria and her parallel in London. You are however free to choose your prayer points.
