Many Nigerians are upset with explicit contents aired on the ongoing reality TV show, #BBNaija, and they have taken steps to ensure the programme is scrapped from Nigerians channels.
According to Punch, a non governmental organisation called CitizenGO has petitioned the National Broadcasting Commission, the Presidency and policy makers over the reality TV show which is accused of promoting immorality, and it is also gathering votes from Nigerians who are displeased with the programme.

Miyonse and Tboss get ‘busy’ under the sheets
Recall that the outrage started after #BBNaija housemate Bisola gave ThinTallTony a Mouth Action on live TV. The two housemates who have been displaying affection for each other got under the sheets last weekend, and the cameraman didn’t lend them any privacy. From the movements and prints on the sheets, Bisola was captured seemingly giving TTT a head, and this broke Naija Twitter.

The episode triggered a major conversation with many people questioning the rationale behind the show. Now, CitizenGo has hopped on the case, calling for a ban.
Punch reports that CitizenGo “is a community of active citizens who work together, using online petitions and action alerts as a resource, to defend and promote life, family and liberty. They work to ensure that those in power respect human dignity and individuals’ rights.”

Presently, the petition, which started yesterday, has reportedly garnered about 3,160 signatures. The organisation needs 5,000 signatures.
Here’s what CitizenGo said in its petition:
“Big Brother Nigeria is a corruption of TV Reality shows. The Nigerian public is complaining about the moral perversity in the House of the Big Brother Nigeria. In one episode last two weeks or so, the inmates were shown openly kissing and caressing one another. This is a celebration of obscenity, eroticism and idleness.
More importantly, it is a big mockery of Nigerian culture and tradition. Since the inmates are Nigerians, they should have been projecting the Nigerian cultural heritage. But instead of doing that, they are bastardizing it.
The biggest tragedy of the on-going Big Brother Nigeria is that our children are also glued to the TV screen watching it. Children are our future. Therefore we should protect them from lewd exposure, which might prevent their growth into free, independent and well-developed citizens.
“The NBC must live up to its bidding as a body charged with controlling, monitoring, regulating the electronic media and monitoring of satellite transmission in Nigeria. Our TV stations cannot become dumping grounds for all sorts of immoral program
