An Appeal Letter To Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu On Issues Bothering Aaua by Oibrahim: 10:41am On Feb 24, 2017
The entire student populace of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ondo state, rejoice and congratulate His Excellency, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Odunayo.

We celebrate you and rejoice with you and we pray that may the Lord almighty bestow upon you the strength and power to rule Ondo state in Jesus name, Amen.

We promise you that throughout your 4years of service as the Governor of Ondo state, you will surely and always have our support and corporation with your government.

Sir, I have few things to request on behalf of the entire student populace.

1. We request that our school fee should remain the same without any increment.

Adekunle Ajasin university is the only school that pays the least school fee and we appreciate the Ondo state Government for that.

This appeal is part of the concerns about the non payment of the state workers and that has not only crumble the economic activities within and outside the campus but mitigating the students from having basic amenities to cope and sustain themselves and this lastly as taken a toll the the parents and guardians of this prestigious institution

2. The issue of electricity in Akungba is becoming unbecoming.

In the book of Genesis Chapter 1 from verse 1-3
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light." But the case of Akungba seems to be different.

The last time the PHCN supplied us electricity was April 2016.

The concept of fundamental development enumerates the power is a huge factor the envision of a societal development and the situation of AAUA is affecting the populace including the students of the institution

Sir, this students environment that has not witnessed since last year April 2016(10 months) now, and the issue of power supply in Akungba town is a very critical issue that no one is ready to attend to.

It must also be acknowledge that throughout the whole federation,it is only AAUA that is suffering hugely because of the debilitating abysmal situation of electricity failure

Many have seized this unfortunate happenings in indulging themselves to stealing in and outside of the campus, assaulting of our female students and breeding of thugs and hoodlums

It has been so difficult for students to read, charge talk less of ironing our clothes.
Students only rely on the school Generator that can be on and off any moment.

The university motto is strongly channelled to reflect the standard of a 21st century citadel coupled with equipments and lecture theatres that will help the entire students to benefit fully from their respective lectures

We appeal to our Fatherly Governor to please do something to our light.

Soon enough, many intakes and fresh students will be admitted and later be subjected to this unfavourable conditions,we are urging the incoming government to find pragmatic solutions to this incidents that as crippled the state of affair of the institution, welfare and development of substantial business within and outside the university campus

We request that the state government should please look into this matter and we the Nigerian students will be glad if something can be done with immediate effect.

We are not commanding but appealing to your excellency that our plea is subjected to your review in which with much optimism,we are well sure that something will be done about this precarious issues bothering the students and its environs

The mission of Adekunle Ajasin university is "to provide knowledge and skill for self reliance in a conducive environment where teaching ,learning and research can take place. " how can all this be achieved without a conducive environment.

I believe as the Governor of Ondo state, you will have some projects to execute and aims to achieve.

We are hoping not for projects but sustainable project that can be maintain for a long run thus upholding the status of the institution in bringing it to a global terrain

I request that Adekunle Ajasin university should be part of your project.
We student of Adekunle Ajasin university wants you to please come and visit our school and see what the state government can do for us.

I believe that the institution needs some urgent rehabilitation in areas of lecture theatres, student welfare and security and lastly development in all areas of academic domain

We lack a lot of things that It will take time to list out everything.
And any of this request should not in any way affect our school fee.

We are strongly emphasize on this issue of non increment to our tuition fees because of the harsh condition and non payment of our parent workers

Many parents had to borrow funds in other to pay their children fees last years and am sure many haven't balanced their sheets

Education by no means is one great essential part of the live of a youth and the students of AAUA must by all means have a smooth transition of academic calendar in other to boost their time management and lessen worry of unknown date for each session

There are factors that can disrupt the academic calendar and that major factor is STRIKE

It must be recalled that if not for a last minute intervention during a strike last year which lasted for over 3 months, our 500level law students will would have miss their callup to their respective law school and we don't even know what beacons later this year

Strike can come up in so many ways and we did not pray to witness the type of strike we witnessed last year.

This year,we want a smooth and fine academic session and this can only be possible if the school management did not deprive us of our right and most especially if our lecturers are being paid regularly(ASUU AAUA CHAPTER).

we plea that both Academic and Non Academic staffs be paid regularly in other to avoid any means to disrupt the academic calendar.

We also use this medium to invite banks like GTB,Wema,First, and many more to please come to Akungba community.

This is also part of the challenges we are facing.
A community without a single bank.
Both students and indigene of the community all withdraw from the 3 banks in the school.

Sir, we request for a standard hospital where students and indigenes of Akungba community can be attended to, the hospital in the environment are just clinic even the school health center is not standard enough.

If there is an emergency, the next place to take such student or patient to is FMC Owo and the distance from Akungba to Owo is about 30-40 minutes, we want you to do something about this.

The chairman and the Honorable representing this community have abandon their people totally.
No project have been executed.

Since these set of people have ignored us,then we have no option than to bring all the happenings to the hearing of the state government.

You are a father to us and will believe in you that you will end all our sufferings.

The moment we have been waiting for has come, Mr Governor sir,you are here to save Ondo state from suffering, you have been chosen to come and rescue the students of Adekunle Ajasin university, You have been elected to end famine in Ondo state.

I must give kudos to our students that have been enduring for a very long time.

You are a father to us and we believe in you that you will end all our sufferings.

All this issues noted here are part of the debilitating times the student will later be subjected to as will appeal to your honourable office to find pragmatic solutions to all these affected areas of considerations in which further improvement will circumvent not only within the institution but the who AKOKO LAND!!!!

GOD BLESS AAUA
GOD BLESS ONDO STATE
GOD BLESS MR GOVERNOR( The 6th Executive Governor of Ondo state )
