lalassticlala: tier 1 account are account that you can open without necessary documents except your passport photograph,its for low earners so they can be financially included. limit on tier 1 account is about 200-300k Tier 2 needs at least ID card and passport photograph, has about 500k limit tier 3 account needs ID card, Utility bill and passport photograph and KYC is conducted on the account before or after onboarding . no limit. 25 Likes 3 Shares |

600k was transferred to my account from a friend and I was alerted that my account was placed on "LIEN" even the money did not reflect in my account, it's showing available *****, ledger **** and lien 600,000 I was directed to go to any branch of my bank to upgrade my account to tier 3 with my utility bill. My question is this, I already have some outstanding loans with one bank which they threatened to have planned to frozen all my account linked with Bvn....... Could this be what happened or the upgrading of account to tier 3 ? Thanx 1 Like |

Me think the loan do not relate with the lien. Loan issue can only be an escalation of your loan position to block obtaining new loans. The lien simply indicates need to upgrade to tier 3 as you were directed. You have a lower tier bank account here. [/quote] My Fidelity bank account was also placed on LIEN recently; I have provided my NIN and utility bill at the bank branch as directed for an upgrade. It escaped my mind, would have asked the bank staff which tier my account was upgraded to. But with your above explanation, I am sure it should be the tier 3. Thanks for the clue, happy Sunday! |
