Dismantling Of Yar: Yar’adua’s In-law Booted Out By Court Of Appeal by CyberG: 5:34pm On Dec 11, 2009 |
Seems like castles built in mid-air don't last anyway! ====================================== An election appellate tribunal in Kaduna has removed the first son-in-law to Umaru Yar’adua, Honorable Badamosi Kabir, from the House of Representatives. The unanimous judgment was read by Justice Mohd Lawal Garba. Alhaji Kabir, who is married to Maryam, the first daughter of Yar’adua, was until yesterday’s ruling a member of the House of Representatives representing Katsia Federal constituency. The appellate panel has no option than to order fresh election into the vacant position in the next 60 days. His original opponent in the election, which was earlier nullified by a lower tribunal, has died, according to sources in Katsina. Prior to his removal by the Court of Appeal, Kabir is mostly known for his absenteeism in the federal house.
