The Truth about CLA Safflower Oil

The hype of dietary supplements has been out there for a while. Many dietary supplements claim to be effective against weight loss. But are all of them as reliable and good for health as they claim to be? No. Said that recently we have been hearing a lot about a weight loss oil known as CLA Safflower Oil.

What is Safflower Oil?

Before we jump into the conclusion, let us first clarify the difference between Safflower and CLA. The customers have confused safflower oil with CLA Safflower oil. The two are related but not the same. Safflower oil is basically the extract of safflower plant. But CLA is something different.

Here is how:

CLA stands for Conjugated Linoleic Acid. It is found in one of the isomers of linoleic acid found in meat and dairy products. CLA is usually classified as cis-fatty and trans-fatty acids.
In the safflower plant, we find traces of the linoleic acid. That is why the two can be related. However, both of them have a different impact on the human body. From the logical perspective, both safflower oil and CLA are helpful in reducing the fat accumulated in the body.

Weight loss properties and CLA Safflower Oil:

According to the claims, this miraculous supplement has the ability to reduce the stubborn body fat even if you don’t diet or exercise. These dietary supplements help in reducing weight by suppressing appetite and increasing the serotonin level which blocks the storage of fats. There is no evidence so far, however, which supports its long-term use. Although the product seemingly contains no life-threatening ingredients, it does have some side effects.

Side effects of consuming CLA:

Many research experiments have provided that consuming CLA tends to increase the insulin resistance. It puts you at a risk of developing diabetes. This evidence seems controversial, though, for the results were different in different group studies.
Another possible side effect of consuming these dietary supplements is the chance of developing gallstone because of the increase in cholesterol concentration.

The bottom line:

This CLA supplementhttps://www.ushealthjournal.com/cla-safflower-oil-review/ may not be recommended over the other better options of reducing weight, such as drinking green tea or exercising. But it does have some positive effects on the health. The evidence confirms it's being a source of omega-6 fatty acid. It does not increase metabolism but helps in burning the fat of the body.
