After chasing away the yellow buses, LASG plan is to have 100% monopoly of the transportation sector. A country in recession should not be embarking on such plans. This is counterproductive. |

Re: The New BRT Fare Price by ikorodureporta: 9:48pm On Mar 01, 2017 |
Ijaya123: dnt mind the mofos. Tbs to ikorodu was increased by N100 without considering the class of people living in ikd, & how much they spend daily on trans. I know they did it to test us weda we wld protest before reducing it to N250. Since people are not ready for a protest, they'l jst walk away with it... Now thoz small buses wld inflate theirs.... |

I do not blame the Lagos state government for this rather I blame Buhari for hiking of fuel price and the exponential decay in the value of naira among other things. |
Re: The New BRT Fare Price by nemynely(m): 9:39am On Mar 02, 2017 |
i have been making postulations since the BRT mgt proposed to increase fares effective march 1,2017 and had to wait with bated breath to see the nature of the increase before speaking out my mind. First, the increase is outrageous! i actually thought a N20-30 or max N50(for exceptionally long routes) increase will be all there is to it. to my chagrin, i say increases by as much as N80,N100,N105 even N180! and with a STATIC salary? and no price concession for those who would opt to stand? Secondly, the multiplier effect may have been overlooked by the mgt. has anyone noticed that our yellow buses also adjust their fares comparatively with the BRT? This will inadvertently affect prices good and services directly connected with other alternative means of transportation. Yes, BRT is a private enterprise, but special in a way because of its myriad of effects on the lagos populace and its alleged proximity to the powers that be in Lagos state. the aforementioned serves as a premise to the logic i want to propound now. Since we pay our taxes, and neck deep in recession, the govt should have liased with the BRT mgt by cushioning the debits allegedly incurred by BRT with a % of our tax, thereby keeping fares as they are until the economy buoys up again. That is what a caring and people oriented govt does. i rest my case. |
