Are you looking to build your career in the Telecom industry?
Our client, a reputable Telecom Company is looking to fill the position of the General Manager, Business Development.

JOB PURPOSE
The General Manager, business development position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan that would increase revenues and profits. This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
1. Implements the recommendations of the strategic marketing plan.
2. Performs market research and analysis.
3. Furnishes marketing advice, counsel and general staff support to all departments within the organization.
4. Evaluates operational issues to determine how competitive and current it is with the latest trends in the industry.
5. Monitors external and internal environment for development of new market segments.
6. Assists in or produces feasibility studies/business plans for new product development.
7. Develops marketing campaigns for new products and services. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure plan for each.
8. Manages specific corporate programs.
9. Develops brochures or other print or electronic ads to market corporate services.
10. Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including online, electronic media, and direct mail.
11. Develops and recommends positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
12. Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
13. Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
14. Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
15. Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
16. Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
17. Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
18. Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
19. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
20. Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
21. Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, resellers, quotas, and goals.
22. Represents company at trade association meetings.
23. Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
24. Coordinates liaison between sales department and other related units.
25. Analyzes and controls expenditures of department to conform to budgetary requirements.
26. Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
27. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
28. Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
29. Directs product research and development.

• Reporting to the MD and the Management Board

EDUCATION:
• Minimum – Graduate Degree Level, MBA will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience of which 5 years must be at management level


SKILLS:
• Business Acumen.
