Former Lg Boss Warns Against Distracting Oshiomhole by kosovo(m): 7:36am On Dec 15, 2009 |
BENIN—FORMER Chairman of Estako – East local government area of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Eshieshi, has advised all those calling for the impeachment of Governor Adams Oshiomhole to stop distracting the governor from the good work he was doing in his determination to reposition the state. Eshieshi was reacting to the call by the leader of the Rainbow Caucus, Mr. Okharedia Ihinmekpen, that the governor should be impeached by the State House of Assembly over his refusal to implement several resolutions passed by the House as well as alleged withholding of allocations to some local government council chairmen who refused to defect to the governor’s party, the Action Congress (AC). The former council chairman in an interview with Vanguard yesterday, described the impeachment call as not only mischievous, but also retrogressive. He disclosed that the governor had even paid local governments controlled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) money from the Excess Crude Oil fund, which the governor is being accused of withholding.
