Over the years many people have attributed failure in schools to womanizing clubbing absence from lectures inability to read or do assignments, but have we ever considered inability to understand what we read.


Students who study hard can tell you its a problem they normally face while some its severe others they later get to understand
others don't


Also for those who do not have good foundation or background on their course of study its very hard for them for e.g those that didn't do further mathematics or weren't good in physics while in secondary school and now have to do it . It certainly looks strange to them, that's why some may engage in alternative means of passing it and end up being half baked graduate.



There are also those who are rushed through a new course and those who are good at La cram la pour end up passing the course while those who have to read and understand don't have the required resources to do that.


Here is my solution to this problem

Take breaks: While reading take break after reading for sometime to enable your mind get some rest then

Take Notes
Especially If you are thinking about what is important enough to write down take notes because the brain is not a computer that can process information and dish it out at once or at any point in time . So in order not to lose vital points take them down on notes

Memory difficulties

With so much text to read, at times it can be difficult to manage it all. If you have a hard time remembering, the most important thing you can do is find ways to limit the amount of information you try to remember.

Get together with friends or classmates and discuss the reading.

Get your classmates reactions and compare them to your own. Ask questions and seek clarifications.

School is not for everyone and formal education is not the same as truly learning.....

A testament to this is seen in the tech world of USA where drop-outs impacted their ideas into practical knowledge rather than slaving away in classes.
