Ladoja’s Brother Loses Two Wives In Accident by ichommy(m): 4:12pm On Dec 15, 2009
Two wives of the immediate younger brother of the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, were among the supporters of the former governor who lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident on Iseyin-Ado-Awaye road last Saturday.

The two women, Mrs. Fatimo Ladoja and Alhaja Kudirat Ladoja, wives of Alhaji Biliaminu Ladoja, were among the 18 people who reportedly died in the accident.

The names of the accident victims which were displayed during the prayer session included Mrs. Bose Adedigba (Egbeda), Mrs. Joke Lawal (Ibadan South West), Alhaji Mustapha Bello (Ona-Ara), Bisi Owollabi (Iya Ibeji) (Ibadan North), Mrs. Fatimo Ladoja (Ibadan South East), Alhaja Kudirat Ladoja (Ibadan North), Mr. Hakeem Oyebola (Ibadan North), Mrs. Toyin Adeyami (Ibadan North) and Idiat Adewuyi,

Others were Wasiu Babatunde (Akinyele), Tajudeen Afolabi (Ibadan South East), Deborah Balogun (Ibadan South East), Hakeem Bello Soja (Ibadan North), Debo Olabisi Emiola (Ibadan North), Mrs. Danjuma Iya Eleja (Ibadan South West), Mrs. Adesina (Ona Ara), Mrs. Idowu Adebiyi (Ibadan North West) and Asimiyu Gbolagade (Ibadan North).

Meanwhile, Senator Rashidi Ladoja is still in shock three days after 18 members of his political group lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident. The Chief Press Secretary to the former governor, Alhaji Lanre Latinwo, told the Nigerian Tribune on Monday, during an interdenominational service held at Bodija playground, Ibadan in honour of the deceased, said his boss was not in good frame of mind to speak now.

He, however, debunked the claim that the former governor was in coma. According to him, considering the enormity of the incident, the former governor was seriously disturbed.

He said that apart from the fact that the accident involved the committed members of the governor’s political group, two wives of the former governor’s immediate brother, Alhaji Biliaminu Ladoja, were involved in the accident saying that they all watched helplessly as the victims burnt to ashes.

Pastor Dare Ojo, in his sermon entitled: “Death, a debt for everybody,” said that every human being would taste it and it was inevitable. He said whether people liked it or not they would leave whatever they had one day, but the unfortunate aspect of it was that nobody knew the actual time.

He, therefore, called on the people to repent and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Dr. Hamed Rufai, in his sermon, urged people to always be nice to their neighbours while noting that the victims did not die in vain because they were on a mission to redeem the society.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has declared a three–day mourning for its members who lost their lives in the auto accident.
The party described the accident which claimed the lives of 18 supporters of Senator Ladoja as sad.

Meanwhile, Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State has expressed his sympathy to the families of the victims. A release signed by the Senior Special Assistant, Public Affairs to the governor, Chief Gbade Ishola, stated that “the circumstances surrounding their death must touch the heart of every human being, which calls for the need to intensify the enlightenment of motor drivers, particularly the illiterate.”
