The Senate Have Suspended Customs Policy On Seizing Vehicles Without Duty. by Olusharp(m): 4:07pm On Mar 07, 2017 |
The Nigeria Senate has suspended
the Nigerian Customs from seizing
vehicles without duty until they
appear before the Senate
Committee on Customs Operation.
The motion to halt the policy was
moved by Deputy Majority Leader,
Senator Balla Na’Allah who was of
the opinion that it is not possible for
cars to come into the country
without paying duty.
Earlier last week, The Comptroller-
General of Customs, Col Hameed
Ibrahim Ali (rtd) had announced a
one month grace period between
13th March to 12th April for owners
of all vehicles within the country
whose customs duty had not been
paid to do so. He also threatened
that erring vehicle owners would
face prosecution. source- www.trendsng.com/2017/03/the-senate-have-suspended-customs.html?m=1 |
