Shortly after Pastor E. A Adeboye commended Governor Fayose in Ekiti for defending Ekiti people, there came a bye law which forced him to resign as General Overseer of RCCG in Nigeria.

Soon thereafter, A video surfaced of Bishop David Oyedepo preaching vehemently against Boko Haram and their sponsors. Within a month thereof, we were told that Bishop Oyedepo's winners chapel collected 35 million naira as tithe from Dasuki's loot.

Apostle Johnson Suleiman preached against Fulani herdsmen killing spree and asked his members not to fold their arms, watch and be killed but defend themselves. The DSS attempted to kidnap him at night in Ekiti but didn't succeed. And then one Canadian Based Nigerian suddenly props up with an ugly scandal of "breach of promise to marry" and an exposition of Apostles Suleiman's sexual preferences of "threesomes" and "cunnillingus". Okay. Who's next? The persecutorial jury of scams and scandals is on the look out.

Political persecution and impunity under this administration is also second to non. Governor Fayose is one vociferous critic of president Buhari's administration who has refused to be silenced. His account was frozen. Members of of Ekiti state House of Assembly were arrested and detained for days on phantom allegations in a bid to force them to impeach their governor. A court of competent jurisdiction condemned the arrest and awarded compensation against the DSS. Petitions have been written to the EFCC and DSS against the stewardship of Mr. Rotimi Amaechi as governor of Rivers state and also against Dr. Kayode Fayemi as governor of Ekiti state but nothing has been done to the duo even though they no longer enjoy any immunity. But the account of an incumbent governor was frozen, his constitutional immunity notwithstanding.

Lest I forget, where did all the brouhaha about Senator Bukola Saraki's CCT trial take us? Who is the senate president of Nigeria still?

Judges have been arrested in commando style too by agents of the executive. Journalists, critics and dissents have been harassed, arrested, Intimidated and humiliated.

All the above are just to mention a few.

The country is not just currently beleaguered, it is rife and belaboured with the absurd, the bad, the ugly and the insane while state actors appear to be irredeemably fixated on the inglorious.

Unfortunately the fourth arm of government (the mainstream media) seem to have been bought over or intimidated.
