Oluwaseun Osewa, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill gates, owners of Nairaland, Facebook and Microsoft respectively are all successful programmers and atheists.

This left me wondering whether one has to be an atheist to become a successful programmer.

Your brain is just like a computer processor and memory so you choose what you fill it up with ..if you fill it up with too much religion you will certainly become a stupid barbarian

i honestly doubt it. what about creating a website makes you doubt the existence of God? or making a program? or a social network?

At times, you people can just come up with very annoying and irrational questions. What has atheism got to do with programming? Is there any link whatsoever?

The owners of Twitter, Reddit, Instagram are they not successful without being atheists??
Last I checked, Zuckerberg denied Atheism.

Tsk! angry

Nah, there are other successful programmers out there who are not Atheists. Your religious belief has little or nothing to do with Programming.

well, for you to be a good programmer means you are a good thinker - you solve problems all the time. And good thinkers always have problems with religion.

That's where I am coming from. Once you start thinking deep, you'll begin to doubt religion.

Being a Programmer kinda resets your brain. You begin to apply Logic to everything.

Doesn't mean there aren't successful Religious Programmers.

You can't want to become an atheist because of that. But one thing though, Atheists think out of the box and are not limited by religious beliefs, so that can be a benefit in some way, but I don't know if you should just become an atheist because of that. Atheist don't hate 'GOD' or turn their backs on him, they don't believe GOD exists...there is a big difference there. So, in your case, you might still believe in God but turn your back on him just because you want to be a successful programmer.
