Residents of Bere, Ịbadan, are currently living in fear as unknown gunmen numbering about ten attacked residents, carting away goods and valuables worth millions of naira.

Speaking on the incident, a commercial cab driver whose Micra cab was destroyed beyond repair said that "We don't know them or where they came from. They just started shooting sporadically." __Luckily, the attack happened around midnight between the hours of 1am and to 4am and no life has been lost as of press time. During this time, no policeman could be found in sight. When AFAS press correspondent visited at around 11am this morning, only one police officer in mufti was at the scene. Eye witness say that policemen had visited earlier and arrested people randomly.

__Shops in the area were also raided and two filling stations destroyed. One shop owner who pleaded anonymity was in tears as she narrated her ordeal. "I don't know where to start from now. All my goods. Gone!" __Eye witnesses say that people who suffered mild injuries had been taken to nearby hospitals where they are currently receiving treatment.

__The police officer from Mapo Police Division said investigations are still underway and that the perpetrators would be brought to book soonest. More updates soon....
