Re: Strictly Internet Speed Screen Shots by 4llerbuntu(m): 3:06pm On Jul 08, 2010 |
abeg seems this thread na im una dey visit naw. i wanna know if there is much gain to be had between a 2.8GHZ processor and a 3.2 GHZ. and i dont mean just because the number is higher than another. knowing computers the actual additional benefit may be minimal but the prices not, so if u know a bit about these stuff pls advice moi. plus then again, the 3.2 is a DUAL CORE AMD, the 2.8 is a single core pentium. (forget all the pentium/AMD debates) im talking actual facts abeg, preferably on usage! |
Re: Strictly Internet Speed Screen Shots by tomiade1(m): 3:32pm On Jul 08, 2010 |
it all balls down to the advantages and features of a dual core. . . In a dual core processor each core handles incoming data strings simultaneously to improve efficiency. Just as two heads are better than one, so are two hands. Now when one is executing the other can be accessing the system bus or executing its own code Hence not kinda telling on the speed and performance of the system. . .as for the single core In a single-core or traditional processor the CPU is fed strings of instructions it must order, execute, then selectively store in its cache for quick retrieval. When data outside the cache is required, it is retrieved through the system bus from random access memory (RAM) or from storage devices. Accessing these slows down performance to the maximum speed the bus, RAM or storage device will allow, which is far slower than the speed of the CPU. The situation is compounded when multi-tasking. In this case the processor must switch back and forth between two or more sets of data streams and programs. CPU resources are depleted and performance suffers. source: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-dual-core-processor.htm |

kodeblurr:8kbps on 3g? Best Advice Unplug your modem (easiest thing to do) Gently place it on the ground Now this third part takes alot of nerve to do and skill to accomplish STARE AT THE SKY, TAKE DEEP BREATHES . . . . . . . . SLOWLY RAISE YOUR LEFT LEG (THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR NETWORK BOOSTING) RAISE IT TILL ITS THE SAME LEVEL AS YOUR WAIST. . NOW, WITHOUT LOOKING DOWN. . .DROP YOUR LEG WITH SOOOOO MUCH FORCE (THIS WORKED FOR ME) THAT IT CRUSHES YOUR MODEM. Whew! that was alot of work yeah? Pick up the pieces and assemble em NOW, you have just 'bricked' your modem! Enjoy 7.2mbps speed on all downloads. Hope this heps |
