Delta State Teachers union has gone on strike due to the government's failure to meet the deadline for the payment of their salaries.
Some teachers have not been paid for has much as four months.The board gave the government a deadline of Thursday 9th of last week to pay their salaries but their requests where not meant so there subsequently went on strike on Friday 10th of last week.
The delta state commissioner for basic and secondary education Hon Chiedu Ebie plead with the teachers to return back to the classroom and the effects the strike will have on the student's.
