On 15th March, 2017 is a day the family of one of the soldiers fighting Boko Haram will not forget in a hurry. Their son, Alao Daniel Sunday was buried in the Military cemetery in Maiduguri.
The Edo born soldier was killed by Book Haram along Cameroonian border on 28th February, 2017 just 13 days after his troop was redeployed to Maiduguri to join in the onslaught against the insurgents.
The soldier had earlier survived attack by the same terrorists group in December, 2015 where he was the one of the few survival that fateful day. He spent several months in hospital. On his recovery, he was taken to his State, Edo where he has been entertaining his church members with his master touch of piano, being a very good pianist.
On valentine day, he had posted on his Facebook page ALAO DANIEL SUNDAY that people who see him often in Benin were wondering if he was still a soldier and said that he was going back to Maiduguri and urged his friends not to miss him that he is helping them to miss him. Little did he know it was going to be his last post on Facebook.
Our reporter who took time to view the soldier's Facebook discovered that he had written two poetic post in the past on soldiering. He was loved by his collegues , friends and family. He was handsome and cheerful, but that cheering face will his family and loved ones never see again except with their minds' eyes.

That is the supreme price those soldiers fighting for us to live, pay on daily basis in the battle field. But this is usually under reported. The media including social media reports only death of officers but the soldiers lives matter too.

Let us wish this HERO RIP on his Facebook page ALAO DANIEL SUNDAY so that the family will know his sacrifice is appreciated

Look at the country you choose to die for?
A den of thieves in high places
An abode of injustice and nepotism

Its a pity
RIP
