One of the longest reigns ever known in the history of African football has ended today as issa hayatou has been voted out as Caf president. Issa Hayatou was running against Madagascar’s Ahmad Ahmad in today’s election in a bid for an eight term in power. Issa hayatou has been in power for the last two decades in a tenure which has witnessed various highs and lows in African football, his tenure will be remembered for the increased strides taken in moving African football to new and global heights but his tenure will also be marred by various allegations of corruption within the caucus of Caf.
