The Acting EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu was honoured as Person of the Year 2016 at the Leadership Newspapers Award Night held in Abuja.

This comes after the Senate rejected Magu's confirmation as the chairman of the anti-graft commission.

The honour was in recognition of Magu's "dogged fight against corruption in a challenging environment; working in acting capacity for over a year".

The Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar while presenting the award to Mr Magu, described him as an incorruptible, true patriot and a man that is a true Nigerian.
