An African business summit should be organised in Africa, not in the US

Wrong. Its for Africans to meet American investors. Note: California's economy is about twice the size of Africa combined!

Who in his/her right senses staged the African global economic and development summit in USA? What happened to the African countries?

Did you read the first sentence in the article?

You claim to be open minded and yet you jump to the conclusion it's because if Trump's policy despite you having no proof.

If you were open minded you would step back and also try to look at it from the VO view.

If I sent you that summit link as it is and told you hey looks like an interesting summit you should attend are you telling me you will pay for it despite the fact no clear information on past events and speakers or outcomes, no clear information on past business deals,l from past events, no information on speakers, topics etc you will just go and pay?

Bro, I'm sure you know of the adage "An apple doesn't fall far from the tree"... A simple google search will reveal several cases of documented inexplicable visa revoke, outlandish refusal stories as well as outrageous border deportations since donald trump assumed office. To pretend all of this is unconnected to a new America immigration stance and the president's populist rhetoric is simply living in denial.

A summit (ofcourse not one of those million dollar summits.. where would a black woman get that kind of money? duhh) that was slated to hold in USC to me holds some sort of credence and repute. I try to be as open minded as I can, and I understand the angle from which you view this but I strongly disagree that somehow a 100% visa denial as opposed to what was obtained before for the African delegates is totally unconnected with trump's new America. I strongly disagree!

You may be referring to another summit. The summit in question was scheduled to be held on the USC campus in the US.

This has nothing to do with Trump. Nigerians and other Africans have been denied visas for several years and the trend will continue until a large majority of those on tourist and student visas stop violating the terms of their visas and return home in a timely manner. Conference or no conference, the reputations of Africans is nothing to be proud of when it comes to American visas, not everything can be blamed on the white men!

Let hope the head of the African leaders will be correct this time around to develop their own country of origin ..I sincerely like the way President Trump is dealing with them it is just the innocent that is partaking in the effect of the man's policy that is painful .
Re: African Business Summit In US has No African Delegates. Their Visas Were Denied by ttmacoy: 5:12pm On Mar 20, 2017
Off at is the case plesse find and send me photos, videos, reviews etc of past summits.

Show me proof of delegates meeting government and businesses leaders as is claimed. Have you looked at the summit site at all?

No information on topics, speakers etc nothing at all. Summits will include information on past events to show its a successful summit that has runs. Few times, they will include photos of past speakers and delegates, they will talk about the outcome of past summits eg xx business secured funding from yy, nothing at all.

I can easily rent a hall and claim I am doing summit that brings delegates to business and government leaders with no proof. Because the event was organised on USC Canpus means nothing as it was NOT a USC event but an event by the USC black alumni association. And the organiser is one woman who heads the association and the consulting firm organising it.

He already answered this question with the 'an apple does not fall far from the tree' post but you keep repeating same argument. Everyone around the world are very much aware of trump's position on immigration. Saying this is unrelated to his policies is absolute nonsense

Sorry but your Apple doesn't fall argument means nothing. If as you claim the apple doesn't fall far then send me proof of where Trump said he is targetting Nigerians?

Love him or hate him, he has been very specific and clear on what he will do. Right or wrong he has been clear and specific so to jump to the conclusion any Nigerian refused now is Trump is baseless. Nigerians and others have always and will always be refused if there is reason to.

As I keep saying go to the other US visa forums, aren't there students and visitors going in from Nigeria or are they all turned back?

Even at that, the summit should be holding in Africa.

Africans are inferior and hypocrites... USA is not Africa. What happen to Lagos, Accra, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Conakry, Dakar, Abidjan etc.
We like other people's stuffs and don't like ours.

Any meeting, conference or organization arranged in the name of Africa, held outside Africa does not benefit poor people, it benefits only the organizers and participants.

This story has holes.

First, a US B1B2 visa takes 3 working days to process after approval during interview. How come they were denied 4 days to travel?

Yes its true US visa denial rates are high, nothing new.

Another LIE I saw in the story was that they were CALLED for interview. Interview date is chosen by the applicant or the agent on behalf of the applicant.

Journalists and lies. SMH.

Even though you dont deserve any iota of a response from a sane human. You and people around you maybe be absolutely inferior to other humans. But NEVER in your entire pathetic existence refer to africans with that derogatory term ever. Else Sango olukoso strikes you straight to the hottest part of hell!! Even Valve has threatened to move Dota 2 and other video game tournaments out of the US because of the visa crackdown:

http://www.polygon.com/2017/2/9/14571570/dota-2-international-tournament-visas-trump-immigration

Not to mention the drop in tourists to the US because of Trump. Anyone that still doesnt see that Trump is destroying America, day by day is either completely slow or lives in an alternate reality.

Note: DOTA tourny is one of the largest sporting events in the US. It makes long standing sports like golf and tennis look pretty pathetic in some respects. It has tens of millions of viewers, tens of millions of players and the prize is in the tens of millions of USD

FAKE NEWS. How is Buharinomic working for you.

There are trade missions organized by the US government where American companies are taken to different countries to see prospective partners/clients/distributors. The US embassy organizes such a trip and each company is responsible for paying their way. I've been on such trade mission in the past to Nigeria. The US embassy provided local transportation, security and passage through customs. They also have us all stay in the same hotel and take the same airplane to from Lagos to Abuja.

Here's a list of upcoming trade missions: http://2016.export.gov/trademissions/eg_main_023185.asp

If an American company is interested, they simply apply to the program to get vetted by the US embassy and their consultants. In the country of interest, the local American embassy will invite vetted local companies to the event to pitch/listen to the American investors.

You don't take a girl to meet your mom on the first date do you? You get to know them first then figure out if you even want to ask them out on a second date. You see that's how the business world works. You first listen to the proposition about what you are selling to you then after the presentation, you can decide If you want to know more. If Rwandans want me to come and invest in there country. They will have to convince me very well first before I even consider taking a flight there. This is how business is usually done. Not everyone is willing to just take a plane and fly halfway across the world for a summit when they probably have other things to do. This is just an introductory 'get to know you' kind of thing not let's meet your parents kind of thing.

I beg to differ. Look at the opening sentence

Each year, the University of Southern California brings delegations from Africa to meet with business leaders, government officials and others in the U.S. But this year, the African summit has no Africans. All were denied visas.

This summit have been going on for years. They should come to Africa and hold the summit if it not academic exercise
