I find it hard to refrain from commenting on this post and I hope the opening line about 'village' whatever is just a joke but even at that it is clear it appeals to a certain mindset that is just base, unproductive, lazy and mediocre. Such a person, a so called engineer or technician I had a meeting with last night and all he could do was to reel out excuses and complaints as to why he could not implement my ideas and execute my requests.

Why do Nigerians, the African have this lazy way of thinking through things, inverted way of appraising things that has made us slaves when we can be in charge of our destiny. The mindset that counts only the cost of things rather than the result of things, the affordability rather than the production, the price tag rather than the input can never progress.

What I see is 12 million naira worth of education, technology, innovation and enterprise rolled in an excellent product that will be the fore runner of many more that will serve all humanity well into the future at all levels.

Carbon fibre technology is highly expensive but its application to planes, cars, ships and trains has dramatically cut down fuel consumption in those equipment due to its lightness and high strength applications. If we think it does not bother us then we look at the price of oil our lazy minds depend on and see the correlation between their massive investments and their future prosperity and our future poverty.

They don't build these things for us to criticise or admire. They build them to advance themselves and ensure their future prosperity by moving away from dependency to people like us. 12 million is too small a price for a sustainably profitable future. Almost every technology on a regular car today started out in multimillion dollar motorsport investments most blacks consider as irrelevant. Carbon fibre is the only thing keeping Boeing Aerospace from being crushed by Airbus Industries. Technology is the only guarantee for future survival and it has a steep price. The question is, what do Africans spend their money on.

Brilliant post! I read your post and had to modify mine where I said "nonsense".

To answer your your question, Africans spend their money on women, beer/wine and club. The leaders steal from them to better the life of citizens of other country by going to stash the stolen money in their economy.

Do you see us investing in any research to help us fight certain problem like epidemic or insurgency?

We had Ebola last time, we rushed to the west for help and begged like sub-humans until it was contained with their help. The question is, what are we doing to avoid future occurrence and what efforts are we making to put fund into educational research or research in the field of medicine where we can actually fight any epidemic?

It's tough to be Africans!
