Lambton College would be celebrating its 50th year, one of the oldest colleges in Ontario. It is amazing how the school proud about how they’re a Centre of Excellence in Energy and Bio-Industrial Technologies, an integral partner with the energy sector as the primary supplier of talent. The energy sector in Sarnia has contributed immensely to the economic development of Sarnia, providing employment to tens of thousands of people in the region.

Every year many people from other provinces in Canada including international students come to study in one of the most competitive programs CPET/PETC in hope for a life-changing career in Sarnia the oil city of Ontario. They pay high tuition to learn what it takes to become a satisfied power engineer. According to the co-op statistics, the school claims that 100% guaranteed co-op for every student in the program. The co-op that is promised is misleading especially when Patti Help a wicked woman whose goal is to make sure no other race other than the white students gets a co-op in Sarnia. She only sends resumes of the people she wants them secure a co-op to companies in Sarnia when everyone who is eligible should have had the same equal opportunity.

Greenfield energy was looking to hire 4 students for a volunteer co-op more than 10 students applied, majority of these students were black and Indian who haven’t gotten an interview yet because the white students have already secured all the co-op except for the few unpaid ones and the ones who didn’t apply, rather than give the students who spend half of their day looking for co-op she gave the spot to a student who was not looking to do co-op in the summer. Patti saw the guy walking along the hallway, called him to her office and asked him if he wants to do co-op, he said yeah and quickly she gave him the spot. How can someone be so wicked, knowing that there are eligible students but refuses to give them the opportunity to secure a co-op.

The reality is that if you are black, chines, Indian, or any other race other than white you will not work in Sarnia’s chemical valley, no matter how smart you are. I was told that GPA is the key to securing a co-op, I worked so hard sleepless nights studying and eventually got outstanding GPA 3.9/4.0, the time for co-op came people that didn’t have 3.0/4.0 GPA where getting more than 1 co-op interviews, and virtually all were hired. Only to find out that Patti Help sends the list of the students she wants the companies in Sarnia to hire for co-op. Most of these companies in Sarnia have never seen any resume other than the ones from white folks.

For over 50 years Lambton college has received students from other province and international students promising them 100% secured co-op but turn around to send the students (white) who were from Sarnia. When you go see Patti Help, first she will preach to you about how some people have to go through tough roads to make it in life, and how others just wake up with food on their table. Yes, this might be true to an extent but not when it happens every year. From the Dean and Registrar not to mention the teachers hate the fact that hard working students from other race tend to be smarter than the so-called Sarnia-born. They always say you are better of working in Sarnia which is the truth. If you’re a student (international or a permanent resident) from outside Sarnia and your colored don’t ever think you would have Lambton college co-op coordinator for CPET help you in any way. You are better off not studying in Lambton College, save your money and go to some other school. Lambton College is nothing but a misleading center of technology.
