Why is this such an issue, and increasingly so now? Does anyone think this has to do with external influences affecting African countries and their stability? What can we do to prevent ethnic conflict and instability from taking us back a century?

Interesting this why government in Africa should learn to consult locall commuities and respect property rights. These government are short sited ignoring drought knowing there history. Oh well watching.

This. I think there's a tipping point between economic stability and social conflict. If people have jobs and food on the table, there is little reason for conflict. That's why politics is very significant, because these politicians and their leadership in legislations can actually save or destroy a country. Unfortunately for us (and apparently Ethiopia), we have politicians who are more proud of having the position, instead of actually doing anything positive or significant for the country.

I don't have data to watch the video but I don't believe op. Ethiopia was never colonized. She has a very rich history of communal togetherness, whatever the conflict is, it will be resolved

Yes. But there will always be a heterogenous ethnicity and religion in a country, no matter how small the country. Unless we want to go back to living in scattered villages like in the Stone age.

If you watch the video you'll see. And it's clear that colonization isn't an excuse for everything. We as Africans need to stop assuming this. Ethiopia has different tribes, and politics have divided them further over time. Regardless of how different our histories were 60yrs ago, we are in similar positions today. Yes colonization has given us some problems, but not ALL of our problems. We need to start taking responsibility of our problems, and stop blaming colonization at every chance.

Nigeria is in NO way similar to Ethiopia, they have being together for over 2000years, Yes. When Jesus was, Ethiopia was and still is a country. There was nothing like NIGERIA 150years ago.


NIGERIA IS AN IMMISCIBLE & UNMIXABLE substance. So, colonialism is the source of our problem
