Buhari needs to act now, the current challenge by the NASS directly challenges the "Rule of Law" as a constitutional doctrine.

Buhari needs to appoint Tunde Bakare as EFCC head and keep Magu as his deputy, and then we will begin to see how the chips fall!

If "All citizens are equal under the Law", how can (some) NASS members use their sphere of influence to effectively check-mate attempts by the Executive to pass certain requests through their chamber due to personal interests.

Not only is this irresponsible, it is also unpatriotic.

What is becoming more apparent under this current administration is that the NASS are trying to emerge as the most influential arm of the State.

If Saraki is clean, why are there orchestrated attempts to stop any investigations into his dealings by the EFCC.

One thing is for sure, if citizens can't comprehend or accept this simple priniciple, then you can kiss development good bye.

How is it possible to bastardize such a simple concept as the "Rule of Law" ?

Bakare will spit fire and will be an effective check on these influential individuals. We need action urgently!

How can the corrupt Magu work for efcc.
Since he has been indicted for corruption, magu should be dismissed from government work.

she was a retired NPF officer b4 appointed as efcc boss...

Documents obtained by SaharaReporters confirm that Mrs Farida Waziri, the chairperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was duly promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in 1999 along with 12 other officers, but only in an acting capacity

See the law establishing the EFCC

Part 1
Establishment of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Etc.

1. There is established a body to be known as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (in this Act referred to-as "the Commission"wink which shall be constituted in accordance with and shall have such functions as are conferred on it by this Act.

2. (1) The Commission shall consist of the following members
(a) a chairman, who shall be
(i) the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the Commission,'
(ii) a serving or retired member of any government security or law enforcement agency;

Except Bakare falls into the category above, not possible

Was it the case that he was found to be corrupt, or the fact that he was heavy handed? When I watched him being interviewed, he could not answer the question regarding, how much had been recovered so far? However, that was an unfair question, as seized funds have to go through the legal system first, and the state has to win the case against the accused prior to legitimately being declared "recovered funds".

He should have had an asset/fund tracker (staff) with him in that session.

NO. The EFCC Head is known as CHAIRMAN which is not a rank as such he is not obliged to wear uniforms. Moreover does EFCC have uniform? policemen deployed may put on their gears but core staffs, I don't think.

i like your response, but i don't think is an unfair question. if you can't state the monies, asset you have recovered then what is the need of you being the chairman of such an important organization.

your last paragraph sum it up.

I guess you are still a kid. is it not better to use one thief to catch twenty rather than loose all the twenty one? that is if actually magu is guilty. besides who is in the Nigeria political circle that is 100% clean, what is the assurance that the corrupt elements will not look for something to blackmail the next person you want Buhari to nominate?

I have sympathy for Ibrahim Magu but I think the President should allow him to remain in acting capacity to continue what he has started till the end of Buhari government in 2019. That's my sentiment

But a non-sentimental position is for his name to be resubmitted to the Senate while ensuring that the DSS and other agencies are made to grant him pass (if he is innocent). ENOUGH of legislative rascality
