I think your touchpad is now faulty, maybe you should start saving for a new touchpad before it start frustrating you.

Update to latest version.
Clean the screen and its edges properly with soft little wet cloth, apply pressure. Little dirts now affecting it.
I discovered it's a hardware issue.
Try the hard cleaning and report back.
