Olril18: Why is number one not assonance (check the vowel sounds) nor personification (is "Sorrow" a living thing)? |

Well, I deliberately crafted number one question to confuse you guys. I'm happy that someone finally said something about confusion. The answer isn't there. |

Danny112:Bravo for spotting the confusion. I deliberately did that. The answer isn't there. At least, there are more than one answers there. |

JohnXcel:Here we are, my friend. There are variations of English (BA): - Englis Language - English Language and Literature or English Language and Literary Studies. -Education and English Language I believe you don't want to study education courses. |
Re: UTME 2017: Thread For Arts Jambites by Abra4real(m): 8:44pm On Apr 02, 2017 |
For English Language (BA): O'Level subjects should be: Five SSCE credits including English Language, Literature-in-English, three other arts or social science subjects (i.e. maths, CRS, Government, Economics, Yoruba Language, etc.) For UTME: Literature in English Use of English One arts subject (i.e. CRS, Government, Yoruba Language, etc.) One other arts or social science subject (i.e. Economics, etc.) . . . Every English BA variation has the same requirement. cc: JohnXcel |
Re: UTME 2017: Thread For Arts Jambites by Abra4real(m): 8:59pm On Apr 02, 2017 |
skopancha:Economics, Mathematics, and any of History, Geography, Literature in English, French, CRK/IRK. For O'level: English, Maths, Economics, any two of arts or social science subject. You're welcome in advance. |
Re: UTME 2017: Thread For Arts Jambites by Nobody: 9:02pm On Apr 02, 2017 |
Abra4real:No, not interested in the education courses at all. What would you say is the difference between the fist two variations you stated above? I.e, English Language and English Language and Literature/Literary Studies. |
Re: UTME 2017: Thread For Arts Jambites by Nobody: 9:09pm On Apr 02, 2017 |
Abra4real:Thank you so much. You've been helpful. If one were to pick History, can it be chosen as a social science subject? And earlier, you mentioned most schools don't offer History (did you mean most pre-exam coaching classes or Universities?) |
Re: UTME 2017: Thread For Arts Jambites by Abra4real(m): 9:10pm On Apr 02, 2017 |
JohnXcel:While checking NOUN's English Language BA courses, I saw Creative Writing, Introduction to Fiction, etc. I believe the English Language BA focuses on everything English while English Language and Literature gives equal focus and attention to English basics and the literature part. I may be wrong, though. But I believe we're still gonna learn literature in all the English courses. |
Re: UTME 2017: Thread For Arts Jambites by Abra4real(m): 9:16pm On Apr 02, 2017 |
JohnXcel:History is an arts subject. Social science subject includes economics (it's even in the definition.) Ask around. Most candidates don't offer History. I may be wrong though. Haven't you heard people discussing online alluding to the failure of schools regarding teaching us history? It's not even compulsory sef. |
