Award winning Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie was sworn in alongside 53 people by the kogi state Governor. The Actress known for her movie “Dumebi the dirty girl” for which she won the Best Actress award at Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards in 2013 was on Monday, April 3 sworn in as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on entertainment, arts and culture to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state.
Her swearing in comes after her appointment three weeks ago by the Governor. The actress now joins some of her colleges in the movie industry who have held political appointment at one point in time in their respective state.

The Governor who spoke at the swearing in ceremony stated that his administration was determined to go after those who stole from the nation’s treasury in past years and recover such loot.

“We must go after them to recover the looted fund for use of the common people in the state,” he stated.

In her vote of thanks, the talented actress and mother of three commended the governor for being gender sensitive in his appointment.
