See how these people are rejoicing and celebrating corruption. Nigerian youth, what is your hope? Can you tell me how you think this judge is innocent? You mean having hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash at home as a public official is a good thing? Or you mean he got those cash through legitimate means? Those were the monies he was bribed with! Was it not this same Ademola who acquitted a Lebanese arms smuggler back in 2014 or thereabouts after hard currencies exchanged hands? Haba! You mean everything now is about politics? How did Buhari come into the equation? Keep on cheering these thieves on, you hear? And then complain that government is not recording success in fighting corruption. Mtchew..
its the EFCC that was wrong they could properly investigated the the series of events before making alleging such. However, they could have proven beyond reasonable doubt evidences they had.

You have to weep for Nigeria. Pastors, politicians and judges have taken over the police and the courts. A judge that was caught red handed, pastors ordering police and courts to persecute complainants and free expression on internet.

And some of you are celebrating democracy, eh? Look, looters and swindlers in churches and mosques will strip fools naked. No wonder you are running to South Africa and India to be slaughtered like goats when you cannot face your demons at home.

Keep all celebrating democracy, rule of law, law and order for the looters while you starve to death or die crossing the desert. Mumus!

Honestly the problem of Nigerian is not corruption but incompetence, we have lots of incompetent persons manning very sensitive positions in Nigeria and the are been paid and rewarded for it. Corruption is only Secondary

When the oppressed become the admirer of his oppressor. it is time to be a spectator. Nigeria has a long way to go. Whatever you touch in Nigeria is corrupt, and people pretend like everything is okay. Court may free them, but you and I know that 90% of those in high places in Nigeria can hardly get a clean bill when it comes to corruption allegation. Anyway, people can still afford a day meal, no qualms. When the real hardship comes knocking you will agree, having N5M at home is not normal, not to talk of foreign currency in millions.

Thank you. It just amazes me that the prosecution could not prove that the accused was guilty on even a single charge.

It simply means two things:
1. The DSS prosection team in charge of the case is just dull and mediocre, which suggests there wasnt a reason to try them in the first place.
2. They accused likely commited a crime, but for political favouritism the DSS chose to, or was ordered from above to flunk its case.
Government agencies should avoid Media Trial and Sentencing, it doesn't help.

After all the media trial that presumed that the judge was guilty see how the attorney General of the federation and DSS disgraced themselves?
"Justice Okeke, in his final comments, noted that the case of the prosecution was built on strong suspicion and speculation fuelled by the feeling of fight against corruption, which no reasonable court could base any conviction on.

The court held that asking the defendants to enter their defence would amount to asking them to prove their innocence contrary to the provision of the Constitution which required the prosecution to prove their guilt."
If this is how to fight corruption then they has failed already.

From the responses so far nobody here is celebrating. Honestly, you are even sounding like the AGF, DSS & EFCC again. If you no get facts to go prove all the tory wey you dey nack for here, go sidon. You don't convict someone through srong suspicion, speculation and media trial. You state your case in court for a successful prosecution of the accused which the Attorney General of the whole federation and the DSS could not do. So all the paparazzi they put up was just built on suspicion. Honestly, I expect you to just keep quite. No talk again like say na you love this country pass. Them dey do gra, gra like say them dey work. Just see how them take disgrace themselves. Mtchewww!

Come it's time to broaden your mind from this myopic way of thinking. If corruption must be fought then competent people must be placed in charge to prosecute it. Do you know why they lost this case? Incompetent people were in charge of the case. The ruling says it all. They based their findings were based on suspicion. No concrete proof. If you know the way the court works you can't convict a person based on suspicion. Imagine a whole office of the Attorney General of the Federation and DSS built a case based on suspicion. Honestly, it's a big disgrace to them. Why? They were simply incompetent.
Re: Abuja High Court Dismisses Charges Against Justice Ademola & His Wife by lionson(m): 2:35am On Apr 06, 2017
Anyone that have a problem with the ruling should have his/her head examined. How do you expect the conviction of people they have no proof against? Their case was just built on strong suspicion and speculations. No facts. Chaiii!
Re: Abuja High Court Dismisses Charges Against Justice Ademola & His Wife by googi: 2:35am On Apr 06, 2017
Blame the prosecution and prosecutors all you want for throwing the case. You guys are either hypocrites or ignorant.

Ribadu could not prove his case against Ibori, he had to smuggle the same evidence out for others to get conviction in London. Today he is a celebrated hero.

Prosecution could not prove their case against Tinubu. If he had been charged for drugs pushing in Nigeria, he could have beat it. In USA, he forfeited all the money in two accounts or so.

Is the Judge going to get the bribe money back to celebrate his freedom?

There was this guy called O.J. Simpson. He beat the prosecution with brilliant lawyers that righly injected race and police bias into his case. Where is he now?

You see, people who made law and order also made pencil and eraser. Go on celebrating what you have little grasp of as long as it supports your whims.

Guess who is bleeding to death, losing all this money unaccounted for. What do you care ..

Na wa o.

You wonder how many are being detained without any case to answer in reality? Those low profile people for example.

DSS or whoever should have a water-tight case to brave a prosecution of this magnitude.

Zombies are coming up with conspiracy theories on this thread like "FG deliberately messed up the case". grin cheesy cheesy

Shameful.

Every corrupt person should be jailed.

But please do not use our scarce resources to do shoddy/bseless prosecution and then lose in court.

Reason should tell you that an accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty. No competent court of law will based her judgement on hearsay.

DISCHARGED BECAUSE OF LACK OF EVIDENCE?
DISCHARGED BECAUSE THEY DID NO COMMIT THE OFFENCE?
DISCHARGED BECAUSE CORRUPTION IS FIGHTING BACK?
ANYWAY IF NIGERIA JUDGE CAN DISCHARGE IBORI FEW YEARS BACK NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT PEOPLE ARE NOW CAUTION IN STEALING PUBLIC FUND
UNLIKE 16 YEARS OF PDP MISRULED GOVERNMENT.
GOD BLESS GMB.

The DSS under Daura has now turned to be as useless as it was under GEJ.
For a judge to be bold enough in this era of much trumpeted anticorruption fight to dismiss all 18counts,no matter under whatever circumstances d judge gave the verdict, shows d kind of shoddy work they did.
The defence was not even allowed to start it's defence. Under EFCC's magu, this kind of monumental embarassment has not occurred, the best d defence will get is after a full trial,a judge gives a light sentence or finds d defendant not guilty in some charges. No judge has DISCHARGED and ACQUITTED a defendant in any case brought by Magu's EFCC,far as I can recall.
EFCC was even said to be secretly and painstakingly investigating and building up evidence against these judges before Daura jumped d gun, trying to stop EFCC taking d glory for it,all in his selfish and corruption backed plan to scuttle d ecomiums Magu was getting. Now see where his rubbish has cost the state.
Orubebe was discharged and acquitted just 2 days ago.
Mike Ozekhome was few days ago also discharged and acquitted in a case against him by EFCC as per the professional fees he received from Fayose among other cases he won against d EFCC.
Is this ignorance or are U openly lying in public?

That's another angle.

But the loss of this case is a dent on the anti corruption fight of these government and the opposition will use the misery surrounding the scandalous loss of this case to their own advantage

18 count charge dismissed just like that.

Daura and abba kyari cabal led DSS should be ashamed of theirelsves for this..

Some charges were even struck out in the case against Nnamdi kanu.. .it shows how incompetent daura is

Magu should have handled this case
Pls,can U tell us how many convictions Magu has secured on politically exposed persons?
I'm not talking of yahoo boys oo.
Let me help U,former dep governor of Adamawa James Ngilari.
U can now name others.
Yet he inherited several cases whose investigation and prosecution had reached advanced stages.
Magu is all about media noise, because he knows thats what Buhari needs.
The senator who he conveniently dropped his name in d media as having 20 bank accounts bla bla bla said on Saturday that he has neither been questioned nor invited by EFCC yet his name is trending in d media, where in d world does a crime fighting agency drop d name of their suspect b4 investigation even starts?

Arraignment of a suspect in court isn't an easy thing .

When trial begins, it can take two to three years atimes.

And that's why some of us are agitating for a special court to try corruption cases

(1)Orubebe was arraigned by d ICPC,assuming u know what that stands up,and NOT EFCC.
(2)Ozhekhome was never discharged and acquitted,(assuming again your brain can understand what those 2 legal terms mean) in any court case, because he wasn't on trial in d first place. He was d one that took EFCC to court to unfreeze his account, which d court granted.
So u see how u av shown who d dunce is.Now run along and go and make urself useful.
