I am sorry to hear this happening, in other to proffer solution by myself and other tecs we need more infor on what actually happened. click start > Run and type in services press enter < continue scroll down to windows installer right click then properties make sure the service is started and not set to automatic, manual or disable. make sure is started if not then just right click and start the service when you downloaded the software, what happened? What web browser do you use ? e.g. firefox, safari, Internet explorer etc The reason why I asked is because i had same problem with a firefox web browser After i finish downloading i expect to get a box to prompt me to save or open but didn't receive anything. I later realise is already minimise to the screen and some cases might be to do with the settings. Here's an illustration if you are using Internet explorer. Please provide us with further information. Good luck and thanks for enquiring.

Thanks men for ur response. My computers says "THIS INSTALLATION PACKAGE COULD NOT BE OPENED. CONTACT THE APPLICATION VENDOR TO VERIFY THAT THIS IS A VALID WINDOWS INSTALLER PACKAGE. Thats it. plz help |

bisotec: Best bet is to visit the vendor website and see if there any FAQ's or firmware update . Could be is not compatible with windows 7. what's the name of the application ? Good luck and Happy new yr. |

what browser do/did you use to download? if it's not i.e. then there's a good possibility that the download was not complete (i.e. downloads into a temp file till the download is complete and then copies the file into the location) specified |

^^^^^ beat me to it thats probably it - a corrupted download it may aso be that the saved file is being downloaded with the wrong extension |

@oyb well the error message is "My computers says "THIS INSTALLATION PACKAGE COULD NOT BE OPENED. CONTACT THE APPLICATION VENDOR TO VERIFY THAT THIS IS A VALID WINDOWS INSTALLER PACKAGE." so i doubt it would be an extension issue, i still maintain it's an incomplete download issue what i would say is to compare the size of the downloaded file to the size specified on the download page (unless the filesystem is corrupt in which case do a disk check - but i've never heard of windows copying a file to a corrupt part of a filesystem) |
