This concept is very important in the life of every christian. Deliverance brings freedom to the captives. As long as christianity is concerned there are two levels of captivity; the captivity of the body and the captivity of the soul.


What is the captivity of the soul and that of the body?
The body is made captive when it is attacked and overcomed by evil spirits. This body that has been overcomed by evil spirits will now live under the control of these spirits. This is seen when the body suffers from one sickness or the other. Then this body can be delivered from these spirits through prayers.

These spirits are cast out from the body through prayers made in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the deliverance majority of Christians know nowadays. But it shouldn’t be!


Deliverance of the soul is made when a man repents and turns away from evil ways. Evil spirits can possess the body but they can’t possess the soul because the soul is a spirit as they are. What can only possess the soul is sin itself. The power or life of evil. This is the true deliverance our Lord Jesus Christ brought to us that we may be free from the power of evil, the life of sin. What gives evil spirits the power to attack us is the life of sin possessed by our soul. Evil goes with evil, when they see that we possess sin in us they will come to abide because we have their nature in sin.
But when a man is free from sin and has the Holy Ghost in him the body is also made Holy. That is why it is said that our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. Even Apostle Paul recommended the brethren in Rome to keep themselves holy.


This deliverance is received by accepting and obeying the Word of God which nourishes the power of God in man to overcome sin. This simply means that true deliverance should start from the foundation which is the soul. If you are a minister of God and you deliver people from power of sickness without knowing the state of their soul you need to amend. You that is being delivered why not set your soul free by turning away from evil life?
What is important to God is the soul of every man and not the body. Let’s start today to make true deliverance by spreading the Word of God to mankind. This is what God has commanded us to do. Let’s do this for the kingdom and glory of our God.
Remember! Faith cometh by hearing and hearing the Word of God.
