they were not really intros.... More like flashbacks for each character to show us their past and how they got there. It was a kinda character development based on back stories which was OK for me. I'd give the anime an 8/10

it wasn't really cliche ... They were more like back stories of each character.... Notice that the character whose back story started the episode was going to die before the episode was over.

who's seen afro samuria?
Its in my top three

has this african american pop culture feel.
It has a lot of explicit violent and even a few erotic scenes.
Quite dark and grimm but with a few gags here and there.
So much bloody scenes, cutting of limbs.
Dope sound track, dope fight scenes, some fight scenes were quite emitional.

No powers tho, just swords and guns

What are your thoughts on Rat's wish at the end?

His wish was to forget.... He didn't have any wish he wanted fulfilled, he didn't even want to be part of juuni taisen but they forced him. He was content with his life so he chose to forget all that happened in the juuni taisen. That his wish might not hold for long though because I heard there might be a second season where they would bring back all the dead characters..... The Chinese zodiacs would be facing the western zodiacs in a twelve vs twelve battle
