Apr 11, Jessica Dubrof (7) was killed with her father and flight instructor when their Cessna Cardinal 177B crashed during bad weather in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was attempting to become the youngest person to fly across the US.

Apr 11, Israeli police detained five women at a Jerusalem holy site for e for wearing prayer shawls and performing religious rituals that ultra-Orthodox Jews say are reserved for men. An ultra-Orthodox man was also detained for burning a prayer book in protest and was still in custody.

Apr 11, In France a law went into effect banning women from wearing full-face veils in public places. Several women appeared veiled in front of Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral and two were detained for taking part in an unauthorized protest.
