I have read lots of post on face book and other social media platforms castigating bbnaija, but i never cared to make any comment, because i have an understanding that social media is a place where most people use the platforms to express their opinion which is their right. But i get peeved when i read how people label bbnaija as satanic and bad influence to youths, especially by religious people and people who feel bbnaija has no moral values. Before i bore you with my long epistle, i want you to note that bbnaija is an idea of an entrepreneur like me, patronizing their services or subscribing to bbnaija is a choice and they never cajoled any body just like the way lots of youths engage in sport betting, Lotto, watching of porn and lots of practices which i also find displeasing but i never cared to castigate because its someones business idea ''Hustle''.

We have lots of international reality shows which 45% of Nigerians watch too which has less moral values than BBNaija like the Kardeshians show and nobody bothered to castigate that because its foreign. BBAfrica has been hosting shows and no body complain but the moment it was franchised to BBNaija it gain hate than appreciation. hmmm! smh for our country people omo see gobe.

Below is an excerpt of Reuben Abati article about what he feels about BBNaija to buttress my points above.

Big Brother Naija reality television show promoted the ideas of choice and people power at the heart of democracy. Televised across Africa, the viewers had the final say in determining who stayed in the house or left during eviction moments on Sundays. The votes were collated, audited and confirmed by Deloitte, a firm of auditors and thus, the viewer as the voter determined the outcomes. In that regard, a reality show of that sort promoted a consciousness of democracy, choice and influence and it further explained why the people from Nigeria to Cape Agulhas all the way up to the Mediterranean sea took fierce ownership of the programme. In a continent where power is the ultimate aphrodisiac and every access to power, fame and influence is seen as an opportunity to oppress and demean, whatever is done to promote a consciousness of choice and the civil society is laudable. Multi choice, thanks.

Secondly, in every business concept, perseverance pays. Multi-choice has been running its Big Brother Naija and Big Brother Africa concepts for a number of years. Apparently, this year’s Big Brother Naija has been the most impactful, the most profitable and probably also, the most exciting. In one week, over 11 million persons voted to determine the eviction. In the final week of the programme, over 24 million persons voted – that is more than the total number of persons who voted in the Nigerian Presidential election in 2015. This year, Multi-choice has made more money from the Big Brother franchise than it has ever done.

Before we continue with Mr. Abati points, I was trying to educate and change a lady wrong mentality about "BBnaija is evil and bad influence to Nigerian youths" and I also tried enlightening her about the VAT benefit Nigeria government gained from the show and her face book friend wrote the following :Thanks Jonathan Felix Yashim you are the real man who understands life in totality.

Now, did you know that governments get proceeds from BBnaija for using the word "naija?" a reason why the minister of information inititated an investigation on why the programme was been shot in SA. Also, the lead sponsors which are payporte,Legends, indomie, miniemie, close up et al made huge profits from this so-called BBnaija and in turn, willl pay tax to the government thereby making our economy healthy. In furtherance, some companies took the advantage of the platform the raise awareness of their products thereby making huge profits grossly. Dstv, Gotv made the highest sales of decorders and subscriptions on viewers to stay connected all through. All the text messages from viewers by using their sims to send sms and vote for their favorite housemates were been profited by the telecos and the organisers of the show. Don't forget, these aforementioned companies pay their taxes as remittance to their signatory of the businesses. Sequeal to the aboves, these are just but a few areas our country gained at the duration of this show. There might be quite a lot of areas i have no idea. Note: all businesses are out there to make money ( in profit wise) hence, why would an organization organise a show when they will lose?

Thirdly, Marketing helps. Branding is everything. Propaganda is profitable. Packaging is nice. Big Brother Naija is nothing but marketing, branding, propaganda, and packaging. A reality show is supposed to be nothing but reality, virtual reality as it happens, but let no one deceive you, everything that happened in the 70 days of BBNaija was packaged, marketed, carefully branded and manipulated. Ebuka, the Big Brother, thumbs up, the scenic designers, kudos, the content developers, three hearty cheers, Multi-choice, you guys are the smartest capitalists around, well done! The finale was a bit overdone though, dragged out, over-delayed. Tiwa Savage (hey baby, watch that growing fat around your waist and thigh), Tuface (thanks TuBaba but next time tell Annie to twerk for us- what was that!). In all, the power of television was well advertised.

I guess you have a better understanding about their show and why you should not out-rightly condemn their idea, perhaps you can suggest more appropriate ways and concept you feel they should host the show so that it can be appealing to you.
